I recently bought an 06 dated SRD500070 SLABS ECU for my 02 D2. It was supposed to be free of any stored codes. However upon installing it into my 02 D2 I have 4 amigo's. Brake/TC/ABS/Hill Decent Control are all on. I checked all the connections several times, and the lights do not go out after a key cycle. I was under the impression the ABS Amigo was required to clear any fault codes stored in the SLABS ECU.

If this requires a 150.00 trip to the dealership I'll just return the SRD500070 SLABS ECU and try to locate another one that hopefully doesn't have any stored codes in it.

I'm trying to upgrade it so when I get my CDL it'll be PNP, and I'd have the latest SLABS Firmware/programming for better TC/ABS performance.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nope, if the slabs has an internal fault, i.e. Busted, the abs amigo won't read it. T4 shows internal faiKure count on one of the menus. All 4 lights on is a pretty good indicator of this.

It may need to be programmed to your truck. Remember, it has to play nice with several other computers.
When I put an 04 slabs in my 2000 I had to have it hooked to T4 and went through a set up routine to get rid of the 4 lights.

I made sure the 04 D2 it came off of didn't have SLS. I know someone in Austin with a T4, but I think it's a T4 handheld. I also read that on 03/04 SLABS if the 3 Amigos or ABS fault is severe enough you'll get the BRAKE light to come on as well along with the 3 Amigo's. AL619 scanner with the latest update can read LR ABS faults, but I doubt it can go that far into the SLABS ECU.

Thanks for the tips. If the T4 hand held won't work I'm just going to return the 04 SLABS ECU and call it a day.

The slabs I had was a new unused unit so my experience may be different then yours.
Also, I have thrown a code a couple of times for sensor issues and the brake light has always come on with the three amigo's so don't loose hope just yet.

When I installed the lift on my 2003 I disconnected the sensors so I wouldn't over extend them. I must have had the key on or something, because it set a fault and it required a scanner to clear it, it wouldn't clear with a key cycle. Perhaps something similar happened on this one.... powered up when unplugging the connector going to the sensors.

I just replaced my SLABS a couple of months ago with a used 500070 from a 2004 Disco and put it in my 2000. After I installed it I did get the same as you, three amigos, TC and so on. I have the Foxwell 520 which I was able to put my VIN # in and clear up all the functions. Works great, just like an 04. Last year I installed a used CDL from an 04.

@GJC -- This is EXACTLY the issue I'm running into on my 2000 D2 that a I've added CDL to. I have ACE and SLS on my truck FWIW. I tried swapping in both a 2003 -150 or newest -500070 Box from an 04, both give me the warning lights (3 or 4 I can't remember) even after I clear codes and program SLS with my Nanocom. The code I get is "PWM signal" which is some sort of engine speed or something. Was that what you showed?

Apparently based on reading on the Australian forums, if I had a way to program VIN into the replacement SLABS box it would fix this.

To confirm - you have a Foxwell 520 and it will set a Vin in the new SLABS box and fixed? Any info appreciated, I'd given up after buying 3 separate SLABS boxes. I sold two of the new ones nd still have one just in case I ever figured it out.

Right around the time of all my stuff I landed a Nanocom unit for cheap, connected it, and cleared everything without any issues. I use it now all the time to setup peoples SLABS units for them and I've even had a few sent to me to program and return. Hasn't failed me yet.
