Sticky Sunroof

So opening up the front sunroof, the sunroof gets stuck on the first vent option. A slight tap or pressure from my hand frees it and it works normally from there. But if it sits for a period of time it happens again.

Is there a pre emptive measure I can take, like white lithium grease to help it along or am I hosed?

D1 or D2?
I guess they are probably pretty similar. On my D2 I just sprayed the rails with white lithium grease. I wasn't having too much of a sticking issue like you have, but I viewed it as a preventative measure.

Grease will help, but you are probably looking at needing to replace the guides.
