Just saw on Instagram the vehicle was recovered. The rear section of the roll cage was removed, wheels painted black, brush guard gone and the dash all taken apart

Saw that too. Rear roll cage was cut off at the feet too. I don't think the owner is aware of that. Even though RN is reproducing them I heard the fit and finish wasn't the same as the original.

There was a creepy news story in Washington a couple years back about a jealous ex-husband who hardwired a smartphone into his ex-wife's car's electrical system (concealed behind the dash) put the ringer on silent, and set it to answer automatically when called. By this sneaky strategem he could not only track all her movements, but could call the phone and eavesdrop on her conversations. I forget how she eventually figured out the stalking technique, but a similar approach could also be used for less nefarious purposes.
A friend of mine did the exact same thing in his home, the now ex-wife was/is in and out of rehab centers for substance abuse. The things that he learned about her this way helped him get sole custody of the children.
