Sun visor clip on thingiverse

I couldn't bring myself to spend $20 each on replacement sun visor clips (again) so I designed some for 3D printing and put it on thingiverse:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4170271

It's not economical for me to print these to order, but you can get them made from various print shops online if you don't have a ABS/PETG capable printer.

There are a few other nice things on there for us, such as interior body panel clips, etc. I also have a stereo blank which I use because I replaced my whole stereo with a bluetooth receiver.

I just bought new replacements from
BP Utah

Were those aftermarket?

For OEM I bought the right side from Rovers North not long ago. Left was NLA. The aftermarket ones available don’t fit very well and pop out too easily.

A good 3D printed one is desirable, as I am sure the right side will be NLA soon.

thats a lot more documentation than 3d printing requires. You shopping around injection molders?

That documentation is just a screen shot of my in-process modelling. I am trying to build it accurately so that the dang thing will fit right after i print it. I am also looking at building the 4 snap-fit prongs as separate pieces that I will epoxy into a recess on the inside of the face plate. That way I can run the printing filament vertically along the printed piece so that it will be stronger and have spring in it.

Also toying with printing a topo theme on the face of the plate like this:screen shot topo.JPG

Ah, it looks like a lot of the drawingless MBD stuff Ive encountered. What CAD software?

I am using the absolute wrong software for this. I am using vectorworks. It’s for architectural cad work. But it’s what I have and what I know. That screen shot above is just a preview of the model imported into CURA
