Sunroof Alignment?

My sunroof is a replacement, and I’ve had trouble with wind noise since it was installed. Is there a trick to getting the alignment right? I taped the leading edge and the noise goes away, so I assume it’s simply too far back?

I have a couple spacers I made for timing them. I know where it is and I can measure it for you if need be.
So first you time the thing. You take the motor off and get the glass at the front edge adjusted to the width of that spacer. Then look at the motor and you should see a painted dot and an indentation or dimple in the gear. Turn the gear manually till those marks line up and bolt the motor to the tray. That will time it so vent and closed is in the correct position. Now loosen the torx head screws that hold the class and you slide it forward and back.

Thank you! That would be awesome

My spacer measures .258" thick. All it is is 3 big washers I superglued together and sanded untill it was at spec.

Hey I’m sorry I thought you had an old Disco. Your deal will be much easier.
To adjust it up and down loosen the 4 screws that go into the roof glass. You just push that upward till it’s just barely above the roof line. Do this after you calibrate it.
To calibrate it start with the roof closed, hold the switch in the closed position till the roof starts to move. (It’s going to feel like forever but I think it’s about 30 seconds) Don’t let off the switch till it goes thru its whole travel. Then it should be calibrated and closed is closed.
