I found a Husky 8 for a pretty good price and would like to get it and install on my RTE bumper on my DII.

I cant seem to locate the mounting hole pattern or any mounting specific instructions for that matter. The owners manual that I found wasn't very helpful.

Will this fit in the RTE with out major modification or do I need to re-work the mounting plate on the RTE?

It is the old RTE bumper if that matters.

Thanks,

Nick

I think the biggest issue is that part of the winch hangs below the mounting feet and that the body is quite asymmetrical.

I had not noticed the part hanging below the mounts. I did see that it is not symmetrical and would not be centered in RTE bumper. I don't know how far off it would be with out taking some measurements but I am out of town on work for a while.

I just found this on EE's site but the drawing is missing the measurement of motor/feet height difference.

If you're RTE bumper is made for a standard winch the Husky at least a 10 will not bolt right up. As Brett mentioned the Motor hangs below the feet. Also if you keep the controller mounted on the side it will be fairly wide. I had a Husky 10 sitting in the garage and ended up just selling it rather than trying to adapt my RTE Bumper to work with it.

At the very least you'll need to move the fairlead opening and drill some new holes. You'll probably also need to add some 2" spacer blocks under the winch unless you want to cut a hole for the motor to drop down through the deck.

Thanks for the info. Drilling new holes and shifting the fairlead opening is too much of a problem. It looks like I might need to raise the face off the bumper to bring it to the correct height of the fairlead mounts on the winch.

Is the solenoid pack removable?

Is it a 2" difference between the motor and feet?

The controller box is removable, I assume it's still mounted on the right side. 2" was a guess I had mine sitting on some 3x3 wood blocks on the shelf to make it sit level. I've never measured it though.
