2000 DII, putting longer lines on. two came off with minimal wrangling, but #3 is just not budging where the flexible line meets the hard line. This happened a long time ago on my 92 Classic, and I ended up cutting the line off and re-flaring it. I think I still have the brake flare tool somewhere, but wondering if it is worth it or should I just look for a new line?

Can you cut the flexible line and stick a 6pt deepwell socket on it? That's my go-to approach when removing old lines that I don't care about and won't budge.

I had to cut it off. I practiced using the flare tool on some line I picked up, I will give that a shot. Worst case I go to Will for one, Atlantic British has an interesting product as well, but it is enough to do the whole truck for $200 and I am not sure I would ever get around to using it all.

I had to cut the hard line, just above the fitting. That sucka was not budging, but I suspect it had been in place for 20 years with salt corrosion. I have a new fitting coming in, hopefully today.

Just to wrap up the thread, I bought another fitting from RN, cut and flared the old line and bled everything today so I think I am good.
