Synthetic Oil

Is it safe to switch to synthetic oil on my 95 Disco It has 66000 miles on it Will it make leaks worse?? Let me know

Wow, that's super low miles! Let me know when you get sick of it and I'll buy it off of you.
I switched to synth on my '94 when I bought it at 118K; no problem.

In theory it can make a current leak a bit worse only because it is much more slippery than conventional oil.More synthetic can get out than can conventional oil.
Safe for the vehicle though.Go ahead and switch.Your Disco will thank you

Yeah I got it about year and half ago w/40000 on it Was in a garage for 5 yrs >> I pretty much have redone everything on it except engine and tranny . Thanks for the input on oil type

BTW, I use Shell Synth Rotella 5W40. It's $14.00 a gallon at WalMart. It's great stuff and the cheapest all-synth oil available that I know of.
I use it in my motorcycles too. Although it's a synthetic, I don't run an extended oil change interval, but it's nice to know I can if necessary, like when I rode my motorcycle on a 6,000 mile trip to Labrador without an oil change.
