Driving at night, bumper lights are completely out and the lights on the body come on. Hit the brake and the left side lights up. Right side dims when it is pressed. Okay go...

Not exactly sure what you are saying, but if you are saying that when you brake your right side brake light does not come on and the right side taillight dims, sounds like what happened with a friends 1960s vintage Buick when we were kids. The ground to the bulb had corroded or a broke wire or something. The taillight was grounding through the brake light filament in the bulb, thus the taillight worked but when the brake light switch came on and energized the brake light circuit, the taillight no longer was grounded that way, instead it got dimmer or maybe it went out completely. It has been a long time and I do not recall exactly what happened. Check your ground to the bulb. If it is bad, might be simplest to just run an extra ground wire.

They don't light up unless you put the rear fog light on.

Replace the bulbs with the correct ones in the upper lights.

Funny. I have had this a year and did not know there is a rear fog lights. So went out yesterday to look at the lights. Brake lights work properly when headlight switch is off. When head light switch is on the brake lights do the above. There was some crappy wiring going on to the left side. The plugs are gone and they are replaced by connectors.

Rear fog lights work with the press of a button. One reverse bulb out. Now just have to figure out the head/brakelight switch.
