Steve, do you by chance have another line on those tires? They are 8.5's right? Gerry had a set of olf 7.5's on one of his clssics and I like the looks of yours. Getting ready for a new set and with the new suspension I should be able to pull them off. Thinking on a set of black NATO steel's. What do you think?

Bringing this back from the dead - Amazon is having a killer sale on these and thinking of picking one up. Doing more solo camping these days and I can always bring the ground tent if I need. Any new thoughts or impressioms over the past 9 years?

My thoughts mimic Dan's posted earlier in the thread for the most part. I love the double for the convenience once it is setup but the thing is huge. I also have the double mattress to help offset the bar in the middle and overall just make it a very comfortable experience. That thing is even bigger than the damn tent cot.

Mind you that doesn't mean I don't take it, just that it consumes a lot of packing space. Since right now most of my trips seem to only have either me + a kid, or me + the wife (rarely me + wife + two kids) it hasn't been too much of an issue.

I still love mine and haven't slept on the ground since I got it. I have added one of those light weight tarps to rig up over the top of it. It makes camping in bad weather much better.

Have owned Tent Cot Double for years now. Roof rack or pick up bed transport only. Heavy but manageable. Super convenient. Roomy as hell. Excellent ventilation which is key in the winter to avoid condensation on the inside. The support bar straight down the middle will be in the way unless users are on either side of it; by design there is no way of "covering" it up. Super fast set up and tear down. Mine has only seen maybe 350 lbs in it and it is showing wear around the seams that attach to the frame. Once they develop into frays I would imagine the whole thing would be completely useless.
