That Tesla might look a lot cooler on bigger wheels and tires with a bit of a lift.

That might really bring out it's cosmetic potential. It looks much better from a front 3/4 view, which shows off the clearance and tires.

I feel he almost nailed something, here. I'm just not sure what it is.

Exactly.

That's precisely what I think he was going for; just from an earlier generation. I think he was that kid, and just needed to wait until he had his own car company to build what he wanted. This is the same guy that sold me a "Not a Flamethrower" from "The Boring Company" with safety warnings written like something from Dr. Seuss and a five dollar bill included because he couldn't ship the propane. :ROFLMAO:

To be fair, I wish more automotive manufacturers would do fun stuff, even if it turns out odd. A few have built cars kids designed, actually. I think BMW did it at least once, and Porsche got in with Star Wars to help design some manner of spacecraft recently. Others have been in on the action. Land Rover did those Judge Dredd forward controls in-house.

They weren't meant to be sold, but that was still an automotive manufacturer at least designing a futuristic car. The guy responsible later went on to handle the concepts for the new Continental and Aviator, and I think was in charge of Ford's global design language until recently.

Did you hit your head?

Quite a few times. I have a universal excuse for stupidity. :ROFLMAO:

I'm looking at it this way: Everything is a rolling server room nowadays. I'm going to restore my DII anyway, and this won't stop me from getting something in the meantime, because I'm selling all my cars aside from the DII. If I puss out, I've only lost the deposit; and in the end, this is exactly what an electric car should be, in my opinion.

I don't like the technology, but he's going to build that first run whether I buy one or not. This vehicle would just end up with someone else otherwise, so it's not like I'm adding an electric car to the road that isn't already headed there. I'll still curse them, and I'll still demand more. I'll never be an evangelist any more than a hippie who's stuck with a diesel Mercedes.

So, it comes down to whether or not he can actually make it happen, how much it has to change to reach that point, and what happens in the nation between now and then.

Cheers,

Kennith

I wonder how many people realize that this is basically crowdfunding?

All you're buying is an option to order the car. It's a reservation in line and capital bait; no more, no less.

Musk is a Discoweb bumper salesman.

Of course. He uses the hype to get free lending - no interest paid - from the folks who want to virtue signal. ;)

If I follow through there, should I get "I miss Obama", Cthuhlu, PETA, "Vegan Life" and Coexist stickers? :ROFLMAO:

Cheers,

At the very least you'll need the Save the Planet ones. Maybe this one?

If I'm completely honest, the ten year old inside of me doesn't know how to parse this new information without enduring a crisis:

I've got nearly two years to get my head back screwed on straight, but still...
