A friend just dropped his daughter at my house in his Tesla S, said he put a deposit on a truck last week. Expecting a mid 2021 delivery, curious to see it when it comes in.

I honestly have no remorse on that reservation.

It kind of checks every box I had on my list; minus simple controls and gasoline. It might be a great daily driver for me, or it might attract too much attention or feel "cold". I've no idea. What I do know is that I really, really like the overall packaging; and I can appreciate the style more as time moves on.

A lot can change, though. There's no way that thing is ready to be road legal just yet. The entire interior will have to change, at least. I was wondering about the big, flat ass being a problem, but it's no worse than those other pickups for blinding people, and may not be as bad given it's angle.

I don't know how well I can tolerate an electric car in reality, but on paper, that and the controls are really the only holdups. Very little has good visibility these days, and my head doesn't turn all the way anymore, so unless it's an older car, I'm fucked either way. May as well have the one designed by the guy that seems to be on top of the whole bullshit automotive camera industry.

It's a gamble, but looking at the rest of the market, it's not really much of a gamble.

Cheers,
