After four years of work, she made her first drive. Everything works great. now to finish the little things.

I like the green! Great looking rover!

Every time I see a dark green Series it makes me think I should change mine from pastel green to nice bronze green.

So did you have all the galvanized bits re-galvanized?

I'll have to get a few other projects out of the way before I could go that far on my 1960. My SWMBO would not tolerate Rudy (that's the name for the Series II) scattered for that long unless a few other loose ends were tied up... Something about already having three Jeeps scattered about... Plus he runs and drives just fine. He marks his territory in 90W, like any non restored Series should, and all of the weatherstripping is petrified, but all summer long he's a daily driver.

I cheated, I had all the Galvanized parts soda blasted then painted with Hammerite. The paint looks better than the galvanized new parts, plus it's easy to touch up.

I ground out all the cracks and rebuilt it with marine epoxy. That was one of the first things I did, it was easy.
