Ok, so it's time for a couple copies of my ignition key to be made. Here's a question...
Could I take a blank of another brand (assuming the blade is the right length etc) with the electronic fob built into the handle, and copy it, and then program it for my D1?
or is the fob brand specific?

I used a generic key for my 2003 D2, I think it was the same key as a Rav4, I had the key made in 2006. Just the key, not the fob.

I have no clue if you can find a substitute fob.

I do not know if the D1 key is the same as another generic.

Does the disco 1 have a chip key?

I am a brand new owner of an old D1. I only got one key with it, which I think is the door key. The ignition will turn to run, but it won't turn to start. Does the door key act like that? The key is a generic copy. I don't have original keys or the fob.
