tie rod ends

How much difference is there in various tie rod ends? I put a set on from Lucky 8 last year, and they have not lasted well. They weren't greasable, but when Lucky 8 replaced one early on for me, they sent a greasable one. It seemed quite a bit nicer.

So, Rockauto has a variety from API, Delphi, Delco and Moog. The API and Delco have the zerks, but the Delphi and Moog don't. Is it better to go less expensive and greasable or sealed and not? The way the rubber holds up these days, it almost doesn't seem worth it to spend the extra dollars.

I'm not looking to be penny-wise and pound-foolish, but it's hard to tell with these things. Thanks.

I've just been getting whatever is on-sale at rock auto with greasable fittings. Whenever the rubber wears out I just toss them.

Anybody got a good link for the rubber boot for the terrafirma tie rod ends? Mine lasted 8 months and they are split all to hell.

I used Energy Suspension's Poly dust boots 9.13101R. They seem to work pretty well and don't readily split like the rubber ones (such as on the Lucky 8 HD tie rods). Your rod ends may be a little different than mine (greasable) but these come in various sizes.
