Time to visit the leaky/noisy steering pump

The GF drove the D2 home and parked it for a couple days when I notice the steering reservoir was half empty/full (point-of-view thing) and it seemed to be coming from the pump-to-reservoir so I emptied the rest of the tank, pulled the hose and cut the end off and then put a wide worm-clamp then put the saved fluid back in. Not too long later it was dripping again so am I to assume that it is more than the hose at this point?



Since its dripping down that hi-pressure fitting to the right its the seal in between then?

There is an o ring on the end of the high pressure hose that you can try and replace. The steel tube was cracked on mine and I had to replace that whole line. I would also get a better hose clamp for the low pressure hose. Maybe like this one

Those are what I had to use to keep that hose from leaking.

the pump itself is known to leak at the gasket... there's reseal gaskets around, but I just just bought a new pump..

Mine was leaky too and I bought the rebuild kit - easy to do. Stopped the leak but the groaning came back after a few weeks.
