Too much stuffing?

I recently removed my sway bars for more articulation offroad. I have a 2003 DII with 2" OME lift (779 front, 781 rear). I went out wheeling yesterday and had some problems. It seems the wheels are stuffing too far into the wheel well. I was going through a small area to check my articulation and had the front passenger and rear drivers side wheels stuffed pretty good and the other two were dropping down. I was amazed at how much because the last time I did this part I was getting wheels off the ground but not yesterday. While at this point I got stuck. The wheels that were dropping were spinning but the ETC wasn't switching power to the stuffed wheels. The light was on but I wasn't moving. I think I'm getting too much stuffage and the wheels are locked in the well. Is this a possibility? On some other areas after that I checked out the ETC and it was working fine.

I guess my options are putting the sway bars back on (don't want to do that), getting 1" spacers for a little more lift (which I want to do anyway), or getting longer bumpstops. Opinions? Will adding 1" of lift cure this or do I have to lengthen the bumpstops?

Bumpstop

I have RTM 2" lift and I had the same problem. Rubbing on both sides. I put 3" bumpstops and have had minimal rubbing since. It is a good place to start. Max

So who's got a good source for longer DII bumpstops? I saw the one in the tech section but I'm not sure offhand if the DII bumpstops are mounted the same way.

I bought longer bumpstops from Ok4wd with a center bolt. I unbolted the stock bumpstops, cut them off the mounting plate and bolted the new ones onto the plate. Then drilled a hole in the frame where the nut will go. Then simply rebolted the new bumpstops back on. Works great. I dont think your going to find longer bumpstops for the D2 on a stock mounting plate.

I looked at the mounting plate last night. What you described made perfect sense Rick. Very easy mod to do as well. I'll get the stops ordered and hopefully have time this weekend to get it done. Thanks.
