So ‘95 D1 manual. Bad idle and off acceleration power issues.

Was looking for a good used one but went ahead and did the Colvern conversion from Brit parts/rimmerbros.

The idle is perfect right around 750/800. Now the issue is the acceleration, it’s as if the pedal is stuck and it doesn’t rev back down... nothing nothing and suddenly 5k rpm and sticks.

Any recommendations? Reset base line values?

Are you sure that it is coupled up right. Is your throttle plate actually sticking open. You can test all this with the motor off. Once you are sure that it is not a mechanical problem then grab an ohm meter. Place the probes on the appropriate pins with the tps unplugged. Move your throttle slowly and the homage should be smooth and linear with skips or drastic changes. Sounds to me like the tps and the throttle plate shaft are not in sync. I have had to reset the base idle on both CUX and GEMS but haven’t had to reset and parameter base value to fix an idle problem yet. I do not think that you have a base idle problem.

disconnecting the battery, or even easier the fuel injector fuse under the hood will reset everything, its not like a GEMS truck

Update base idle completely fine. Just givers right where it should be and sounds better than ever.

Now when you give it any kind of throttle it dies out or there is no corresponding rev change.

Picked up a multimeter and about to run that test.

also relevant, make sure it rises smoothly. if this fails ask the TVR nerds on pistonheads, they’ve forgot more about stuff about the 14CUX than most rover guys have ever learned.
