BAK-PAK-RAK

I have a couple of these made up. Very similar to the old KVT rack. Bare metal $400.00
shipped.

PM me if interested.

Not to shit on your thread, but I think they would look a lot better if you made the sides a little closer in length to the alpine window. Something just looks off about it to me.

I appreciate the response, these were a couple of R&D versions I made. I can extend the feet easy enough.... Regardless, they are stout as hell and much stronger than the copy cat "pinch" clamp on most all other Disco racks I see available.

My tube is 1" x .083 compared to the .065" wall the KVT has. Also, my feet are 3/16" plate laser cut, compare to the 16 gauge pinchers of late.

I can throw 560#s up top ( 7- 80# bags of Sakrete) and grab the top and pull and shake with all 250#s on my weight and the rack doesn't budge.

I concur, the wider stance will just strengthen the platform more and give a little extra glass protection as well.

Thanks,

J

I like your clamps, they are similar to Hannibal. The rack looks to be well made, I just don't like the sides, and that is an easy fix.

Thanks, I hope to have my full line of Rover racks out by mid-end January. My style is more similar to the Brownchurch products than any IMO.

Also, I will build a 100% full custom (within reason) rack as well for NOT A 100% CUSTOM PRICE. Usually a few bucks more to cover materials and time.

Make a full size rack. Hurry up.

What variety? My first will be a RTT Flat with front Expo basket. I have someone wanting a full length flat as well.

I have mount feet and backet supports at the laser cutter now.

One another note... I've been going back and forth with how I want to mount the racks.. Built in feet with clamps or fully removable mounts like I build for the Land Cruiser racks.

Feedback on all.

I couldn't be happier with mine, the quality is top notch and J is super easy to work with on getting just what you want.

Looks like a solid start. I would be more interested in a full-length, low-profile rack. The factory roof rails don't serve much purpose so if I bought a full-length rack I would want one that sits closer to my roof and involves removal of factory rails. The stepped design of Safety Devices racks is a good look on the Disco, however the raised side rails are not a necessity.

I like the smaller grid of the tubing on your rack floor relative to the Safety Devices design. Makes it easier to configure smaller items on the rack without having to install separate flooring.

I'm not a marketing expert but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night and if it's not too late I suggest you come up with a more creative name for your product. The current spelling looks funky and the name conjures up associations with KVT. Even if it's just your name that would be distinctive - Reeves Racks. If your product is superior your name should be superior.

That's what he sort of designed for me. By design I mean he kind of drew it in a program, but I like the idea.

I second the low profile rack. Worth removal of the bars to get it to hug that tight.

I will get to finally spend some time with this next week as I have scheduled some R&D time into my workload and for once I AM AHEAD!! WOOHOO! I will have the LO-PRO AND the RTT/EXPO tacked up by the end of next week along with getting started on the rear bumper as well (FINALLY). I got slammed with orders and winch sales.

I'd like to figure out a simple CUT 'N' CAP solution for the OEM rails. But, this rack should go to the outside of those rails and the customer can deal with those at their leisure.

It's not hard to remove the rails. It can be done without removing the headliner. blue has a write-up under the tech tab at the top of this page. One can buy the plugs and be good to go. No cut n' cap needed.
