I’ve had this 97 NAS90 for about 18years and there was a long period when I didn’t change the fluid as often as I probably should. So, a few times a year I drain 1/2 Quart and replace with fresh fluid. This is the 4th time and so far I’ve not had any negative results. The truck/trans has 192K on it so I’ve been too worried a full flush all at once may not end well.

I think you should just drain the pan completely and figure your getting about 1/2 of everything in the whole trans. I feel like the filter is overkill because if you have a bunch of crap in a trans filter its because something major is failing.

I have to agree with Stew. Drain and fill. I’ve done that many times without a problem

A regular drain will be about 5 quarts. If you put the old fluid into a jug with measurements, then you’ll know how much to put in and tweak from there.
