Ever think you've finally got all of the problems fixed with your D1 and then suddenly it rewards you with a brand new issue? Here we go..

I've got the trans temp warning light on the gauge cluster. Popped on right as I was parking the truck. Let it cool off for several hours and then restarted the truck, still got the light. Based on what I've read the NAS trucks have a temp sensor in both the LT230 and the R380. However, I am having a hard time finding either component in the rave.

I'll double check the fluid levels tomorrow but if the light is still on tomorrow evening (with no driving) it has to be a sensor.

Has anyone tackled this before? Can you give me an idea what to look for in terms of parts?

As a follow up, I've got a path forward although my diagram only shows the automatic transmission oil temperature switch. So either I misread about the r380 sensor or my diagrams exclude the rare NAS 5spd trucks. Some of the component identification pictures in the RAVE are just outstanding. Having worked in manufacturing it had to be an intern task.

there is a trans temp sensor on the R380. its right on top of the tranny cooler line mounting bracket on the driver's side of the transmission. right where the lines connect to the tranny.

Following up on this one to close out. Confirmed, no temp sensor for NAS r380 D1. I replaced the sensor on my LT230 and the light went away.
