Hey guys today I was swapping the transmission filter and pan out for Atlantic British's conversion kit. I was literally on the last bolt when the thing just broke off. Of course its the front driver side corner so the frame blocks any kind of drilling. Any ideas on how to get it out? Thanks!

Some of the more compact 90 degree drills, like Milwaukee's M18 might fit in there with a short bit or an extractor. It's been a while since I was under a LR3/4, but is that the engine subframe blocking access? With an engine cross bar support in place, we used to lower the rear of the front subframe on Audis all the time for various jobs. Not fun, but if doable on the LR it would provide more access. Hopefully someone has better advice.

EDIT: Nevermind on lowering the obstruction. I just saw it's part of the frame and not separate like the newer Velar, etc.

I wonder what material the bokts are made of? Possibly tack weld something on that you can get a wrench on? That sucks. I did the pan and sleeve on mine last week and worried this would happen. I just broke one on the skid plate though.

That cross member drops easily. 18mm at the mount and 15mm socket and 17mm wrench. Just hold up tcase with a floor jack. The torque spec is I believe 8nm. Says on the pan. Should have no tension. Bolt is soft a good drill bit and ez out or a left hand drill bit should do the trick. It’s important to torque those bolts or at least tighten them by hand with a 1/4 setup
