I have never been able to get in to facebook, although quite a few of my peers are very involved in it.

What I cannot stand about facebook is the post from someone saying how much they love their spouse or thanking their spouse for something they just did, like making dinner. Shut the fuck up, I don't care.

Im convinced the people who like facebook the most are those who are a little reserved in person and want to brag about themselves.

The issue I have with twitter is that you have to open an app, and scroll through just to get caught back up and I don't find myself doing that frequently. Instead I find myself going through two weeks of tweets in 15 mins, 90% of them are news articles and I've already read the story elsewhere.

Nothing will replace reading the wall street journal in the morning and hanging out with your friends at night.

you can't use twitter.com it's just too messy. I use hootsuite which is a great social media aggregator. i can read what i want, organize everything including my tweets and facebook posts, and keep searches live if there is breaking news. i have found out about more natural disasters and breaking news from twitter than i have from traditional news sources.

when we had that east coast "earthquake" a few weeks back i knew within a minute that it was an earthquake and not the nuclear power plant nearby. i don't want to sit around for tomorrows newspaper for news like that.

None of you guys are going lowbrow enough. I use Topix.com it tells me who is cheating on who, who is a dirty little trailer park skank, where to buy meth, why Obama is a terrorist, and who died in that car wreck 15 minutes ago.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=zj

This definition is a bit out there (can't say there are many Caucasian Zimbabwean hookers...)

<table id="entries"><tbody><tr></tr><tr> <td class="text" colspan="2" id="entry_2664218"> the act of receiving oral sex from a caucasian zimbabwe hooker as she balances a basket of fruit on her head, for every piece of fruit that falls out of the basket, a 2 dollar discount is awarded
i got this mango from the zj i got earlier, two dollars off
</td></tr></tbody></table>

The definition doesn't specify, so I have to ask: US dollars or Zimbabwean dollars? Because if it's Zimbabwean currency, $2 is not worth the paper it's printed on. Before the economy switched to using US$ and ZAR, the Zimbabwe Central Bank was printing 50-billion dollar bills.

I deleted my facebook. I found that my real friend still call on the phone like in the old days. The others just want to add me for the numbers. People who I knew 25 years ago and didn't do anything with were trying to act like we were best buddies.

That sucks. I enjoyed your pictures and your Alaska travels.

What will I do without the "most interesting dog in the world" updates?

I got a Facebox account a couple of yrs. ago to keep an eye on my kid. I'm pretty sure by now, the little shit has figured out how not to let me see things. I don't keep up with it much any more. and almost sure she has found somewhere else to post stuff.

with that being said. I see Facebox and twitter like a tampon.... made for women, by women. and I don't need to know a thing about it.
