Replacing the ignition wires so I thought that I would replace the valve cover gaskets while I was at it. Is it possible to remove the valve covers without removing the SAI air manifold. It seems that LR made it impossible. Last time I removed the union nuts from the cylinder head i had a hell of a time. Any advice?

It shouldn't be a ptoblem since you need to remove the upper manifold to pull the covers anyway.

So when I pull the upper manifold I pull out the studs and use bolts for the SAI brackets. Makes the whole deal a bit less painful. My studs weren’t tight so I was able to unscrew them before I removed the upper manifold.

Mine were really stuck on there and ended up twisting the pipe. Sourced a used on from Will Tillery. (Cut the pipes with a sawzall and removed nuts with a socket.)

After I did the top engine rebuild, I cut up some hose, fittings and clamps to make it easier to remove the SAI plumbing.
