Oct 8-11, 2015: My favorite event of the year hosted by Lillie Brook Farm in Rockingham, VT. Reminds me of early MARs - lots of REALLY good food, locally sourced after hour drinks and some great on and off site trails. Not to mention a beautiful area of the country.

Dual sport bikes welcome too as there will be daily rides and drives on the Class IV roads during the entire event.

Always a great collection of some very cool Land Rovers and Toyota's.

I'm definitely upset that I'll miss it this year. It's always a good time. Trails are not super close to the event, but there are some great trails within 15 minutes

By default. It's the only event you go to.

Almost, but not quite. But likely next year it will just be the PA and VT event. If I happen to be in NC again during Uwharrie Safari, then I'll swing by there. Too many work conflicts typically. Maybe I'll take the Tahoe! Not this year - taking the Hilux and towing up the KTM and a friends Triumph. You should come - I'll keep my socks on.

True, the trails are pretty fun on-site but they often get filled up pretty quickly.

The issue like with most events, is people getting on the trails that don't have the proper gear - driving solo, not airing down, no winches, etc. I usually run a few trail rides a day and we try and keep everyone moving. That stops when a big ol LR FC101 gets stuck ahead of us. But overall most people are pretty good about not biting off too much.

There will be lots of yummy eats this year too - even more chili!! I also expect some Alchemist to find itself my way. Regardless I am headed to Burlington, Stowe, Hill Farmstead, NH and Maine after the event via the bikes, so there won't be a shortage of fine beverages.

I've known Jim Ostdyke from ok 4wd for 30 years. He's got a good business and is a great guy. I'll have to swing by there this weekend and see him. What kind of socks are we talking about?

Looks like a great event! Maybe next year we can attend when we are back living in the US again.

There is a nice event in PA around my hometown (State College) called the Mid Atlantic Overland Rally in Huntingdon. They are using the trails and roads around Bald Eagle, etc., so it's nothing hardcore by any means, but they are getting decent turn outs and incorporating dual-sport bikes into the mix. Tourtech Rally East has combined with them for the event.

Make sure to stop in Boxer's Cafe in Huntingdon though as you come up around Raystown - very cool local bar and great food. All around Raystown has some great dirt roads via 26. It's the way I come up from VA back to State College on my bike.
