VSS for 1998 D1

Looking for a VSS for my '98 D1. It appears to be crapping out - I had a few intermittent losses of power at highway speeds, followed by a quick loss of the speedo. Anyone have a genuine one?

Mine worked intermittently for about 3 months but hasn’t acted up in over a year.

They fail in more than one way. One other I know of causes the instrument panel to go dark - so I'd replace it when it is convenient (in a warm garage rather than on a freezing-cold pavement).
