Those brands aren't worth thirty billion, so it's got to be an April Fool's joke. Hell, weren't they worth a grand total of $18 when BMW bought them? :ROFLMAO:

I've always said Land Rover and Jaguar are the biggest prostitutes in the automotive industry.

It's an interesting idea, though. VW would be good for them, but there would be internal competition and branding conflict. They'd have to decide just who would maintain the flagship SUV brand. Bentley wouldn't be happy about the Range Rover, and Porsche wouldn't be happy about the Range Rover Sport.

So, while from a manufacturing perspective it makes sense, it's a 1980's GM situation from a marketing perspective. It's pretty funny, though.

Cheers,

Kennith

Damn. For a minute I got excited that just maybe that would lead to shaking things up of JLR.

Just read it a little closer.. I mean not a bad idea to delete Jag sedans. We don't sell one of those damn things, aside from the XJ. The F-Pace, which is built on the Velar platform, is the only winner in the Jag lineup and the E-Pace follows after that.

I'd be just fine getting rid of the Evoque and Disco Sport.
