I am looking for an ECU Mate aka: ecumate, ecu-mate.

Does anyone have a spare to sell or loan? The bloke who made and sold these (I am guessing he was based in the UK) retired; as far as I can tell, it appears he did not sell or opensource his tech kit. If he sees this and would like to... please DM me and I can help with a github writeup and repo. :)

These worked magic for Pre-OBD2, pre-AELS and pre-GEMS 1995 NAS D1 discos. (AELS = Advance Evaporative Loss System).

I am interested in building my own, if anyone has DIY guidance.

If anyone has wisdom or knowledge of alternative OBD1 (aka: obd-1, obd-I, obdi) diagnostic/parameter-setting tools... please reply :)

I would like to know as well.

I’ve been looking for what options are available. Seems like there’s nothing for the 14cux/OBD1 beyond a display that shows maybe a couple different live data points…

about 95% of what it does is on the main scree

Its got a couple other features hidden in the menus like stepper motor manipulation and reading the eprom contents, but most people probably won't want to mess with that

I’ve only looked at the tablet version. But it looks like the PC version is really where the capabilities are.

Sweet, thanks! I will check them out. Can you provide and links and insights?

From what I've read about the Roverguage, it does not let you actually set any params.. just observe them. Whereas the ECUmate actually lets you set the idle control valve numerical value.. VERY HANDY to get the off-throttle low-rpm engine-stall-while-braking problem resolved.

Rovergauge looks pretty sweet. I think an android tablet mounted in the dash, with this running would be a sweet modernization.

I'll have to look into the saved stepper motor value in the 14CUX battery-backed RAM to see if there's a feature I could add to RoverGauge that would be useful. I assume you're not talking about running the idle control motor in/out -- RoverGauge already does that from the Idle Air Control dialog accessible from the Options menu.

The runtime parameters in the 14CUX are constantly being overwritten by the embedded code, so it is not very useful to write new values via the diagnostic port. In fact, this would often have unintended side effects because a number of locations are used for both the left and right engine banks alternately.

Anyone know which diagnostic reader can look at the ABS system on a OBD1, 95 D1?
Search for flashing the abs system. Basically you use a paper clip to jump a terminal or two and count the flashes of the abs dash light. Then lookup the count to find where the issue is. Most of the time I found that the sensors needed to be knocked in a bit. I used these instructions successfully. https://nebula.wsimg.com/d6b950e44a...205DC3BF9A2BD434D&disposition=0&alloworigin=1
