Searching for a good thread relating to the leaky sun roof issue.
Pulled the head liner and the drain corners and tubes look good.
I think I'm water is leaking in where the sunshades clip into the pans?
The Disco's parking spot puts it on a very slight incline...

Also seem to be taking on water some where under the dash on the drivers side?

Thanks in advance!

My first guess would be the tubes are clogged somewhere between the corners of the sunroof pan and the bottom of the truck. Compressed air can help.

Check this out.. they leak in a couple places, all explained here.

1) The seal between the plastic outer frame and the roof - this almost always leaks 100% of the time, it was a little adhesive strip that decays by now - 20+ years later
2) The rubber seal (replaceable with a Brit-Part seal), between the glass and the plastic frame - PN EEQ500010. Be sure you put it in the right way, it's actually easy to install backwards.
3) At the drain tube trays, where the ends either break off, OR the plastic trays leak between the metal main sunroof bottom panel and the plastic of the drain tray.

Also:
-- Check that your drain tubes (in the rear sunroof) aren't routed "uphill" from the sunroofs, both of mine were from the factory. Literally how is water supposed to flow uphill ha. Mine leaked whenever in my driveway I parked with the nose up, which it's always nose up. Rerouted them with slight downhill slope and some tiptoes on the little wire harness holders between alpine windows and rear side windows... and much better.

-- Everyone recommends starting to seal up every last hole, screw and mounting point on the lower metal tray. You don't need to do this if everything else works and you have a good rubber seal between the roof frame and the glass (#2 above). On my truck, after I replaced the sunroof seal on the rear sunroof, I hadn't reattached my drain tubes, and NO water gets in between the glass and frame into the drain trays anymore. I believe that the drain tubes are really meant for overflow, or if water gets thru the seal -- not regular drainage. The idea is to keep water out of the sunroof with the new seal.

The bottom of th e tubes are probably plugged with dirt, mud and wasp nests.. I think the tubes originally had some kind of soft rubber one-way "valve", but they fall off or just wear away, leaving the tubes open to the elements.
Run some compressed air thru the tubes.

Screw a new rubber seal. Use body/windshield adhesive between the roof and sun roof cartridge. It remains malleable unlike typical silicone sealer.
If you pull the cartridge off you will probably see where your leaks are by seeing the rust.

For the drivers side check the A pillar behind the plastic cover near the floor pan. The sunroof drain terminates down this channel. You could also have water leaking between the wing and the A pillar due to rust/failed seam sealer in the joint. Water drains from the cowl underneath the front fender panel and down this channel. Rust / seam sealer failure in this spot is pretty common and has needed to be corrected on both my D1 trucks. Each were southern vehicles as well.

Mine was leaking in the clips too and a new seal did nothing. I took it down and sealed between the roof and the sunroof frame and that fixed it. I used lifeseal which is a high grade marine sealant. I had done them once before when I built it with a butyl flexible sealant but it didn’t last long so don’t use that (especially if you have a rack and kids may step on the roof and flex it) my front was also with the butyl and it has held fine. I just went through this
Btw while it is down its a good time to reseal the plastic drain pieces. I used 5200 on those (another boat sealant/adhesive)

Thought Id cheat but the 5200 is still gooey after only 24 hours so reassembly will have to wait another day

POR15 is dry to the touch. Ordered a green aerosol touch up can to hide the evidence so should be fully cured by the time it gets here

That’s what I used Robert. The clear but similar stuff. Just got 5-7 inches of rain from hurricane ETA and no leaks from the sunroofs. A little on the pass floor so I may have to do some checking elsewhere but at least the sunroofs are fixed

Good to hear its still working

5200 was cured. Put the lifeseal on slightly too wide. May have to clean up some with a razor once its cured, or just dont look at the roof too close
