What are these wires suppose to connect to?

I pulled off the rear right interior panel and noticed this cable harness that didn't connect to anything.

Any ideas what these are supposed to be used for? Thanks...

Trailer lights maybe? My RRC has a similar connector, in the lower right rear quarter panel, for the factory trailer harness.

I am with you TGORM, The trailer connection is right by the rear light.

Sorry I should have included that I have a '03 Disco. But I think you are correct regarding the optional rear headphone controls. I have the Harmon Karmon stereo system which doesn't allow for rear headphone controls.
