I have used Right Stuff Grey in areas with engine oil contact never with gear oil. Also used permetex gear oil rtv succesfully before, however I cannot find it in anything but the 3 ounce containers online. Any other easily available rtvs you like for the job?
What is your preferred sealant for the rear diff housing?

I’ve had good results with both factory stuff and right stuff black and wurth rtv ( stuff is low key the best). I have always found sealant being second to preparation and torque
you can not go wrong with the Right Stuff....it seals fantastic. We would joke that you could remove the bolts/nuts when it set up.

Thanks everyone. Could not source the permetex gear oil specific RTV in anything larger than the 3.5 oz kits which are a pain to use. Went with Right Stuff Black thanks to your suggestions. Appreciate it!
