What's this truck worth?

Came across this 1959 Series II SW for sale? Pretty rough condition, esp. bulkhead door posts, but solid frame, runs and drives but needs work, clear title. What do you think is a fair price for this?

Thanks,

David

Haven't looked at it myself, but the owner claims it is. Will look very closely before I bargain. Just wondering what a ballpark for one in this condition is given a solid frame?

Since the body is rough as Hell I wouldn't go more than a grand or two. For every issue that's visible there's one that's concealed.

With a body like that, I'd go over the frame inch by inch. I doubt it's solid.

And I agree...If the bulkhead is that bad, the frame is hanging on by a thread.

i bought a 59 SW for $500 knowing the frame was bad but the bulkhead and other body panels were straight and solid........id really go as low as you could with that one....the rear bumper looks suspect as well

complete pickup cab alone is probably in the $1200 range to the right buyer. the title is always worth a couple hundred to a guy building a hybrid variant too.

What!!?? The pickup cab in good condition is $500-ish.

With busted out windows and need of full repair, I'd offer $200 for that pickup top.

Hate to say it, but overall I'd let that truck sit unless I was going to use the skins and other parts for a rock crawler. Rebuild the top part of the bulkhead, use the hood, grille, maybe the fenders and rear quarters on a custom chassis buggy.

Would look quite nice.

Buy it for $500, chop the top, making the welds clearly visible and ugly as possible, fabricate a custom tailgate out of antique license plates and a beer keg behind the cab for fuel.
Now call it a "Rat Rod, one of a kind!" Sell it for twelve grand and buy yourself a nice Series or Defender that isn't falling apart.

Good god. That is a capital idea.
