I'm feeling kinda dumb here, but being that electrical stuff is not my strong point, is there anyone that can tell me how to bench test the window motor? Also maybe someone has some insight as to why the windows and sunroof will not work? It's a "96 D1, I got a used window ecu from Gardiner's, Florida but no joy there, also tried the Atlantic British rear window fix and no joy there either. Any ideas would be great. It makes it a real pita at Timmy's drive thru lol.
Thanks and have a great day,
Tom

Hi WaltNYC, I just gave that a try, hooked - to one pin and + to the other and nothing swapped them around nothing and double checked to make sure I had good connection on the test leads. This was also a new motor so I'm stumped on that, because it should work. And there is nothing about testing window motors in rave. Am I missing something?

Try looking at the wiring diagram, not familiar with D1 but suspect there are 3 connections, 1 live to go up, 1 live to go down and a ground connection through the door frame.

Would be real nice if that was the case but there's only two wires going to the motor, as far as I know the switch controls the polarity reversal. I could very well be wrong though.

Easy to check the motor by plugging in another one in it's place, but none of the windows or sunroof are working. Obviously you've looked at fuses and relays. The RAVE wiring diagrams aren't that difficult to follow, but it takes a little time to understand how they work. I think you need to start checking where you do have power. Do you have the Electrical books (download) for the Disco?

Hi Harv, just got back from doing some more troubleshooting, there are no relays everything runs through the window ecu. I have power into the window ecu, but none out and so none at the switches. I pulled the board out of the ecu to check for dry joints and it looked real good, but it might still be a dud. I still can,t by any way I can think of (or anyone else) to get a motor to bench test. It just seems like I'm missing something.
