So I’m about to upgrade my audio system but first I need some tint so it doesn’t easily attract the meth heads. How much did you guys pay to have the windows tinted. I will be getting all doors, tail gate, and safari windows tinted. I’m not going limo or too dark because visibility is already a bitch if you are tall and drive these piles.

For what its worth I picked up a roll of static cling window tint from Lowes. I cut out a piece of the material to create a strip on the top of the windshield so I never need to use the sun visors.

What I also like about the static cling window tint is that you can remove it at anytime and reuse later. I took my time and it looks good. The roll has enough to do all four doors, maybe the back too. Just a thought.

Peace...

Get yourself a bottle of soapy water, a cutting tool, and a good little squeegee and go at it! Nothing to it and the cost was under $30.00IMG_20200820_152157.jpg

my wife gets all her cars tinted (gone through 4 rovers now). I think we always pay about $300-350. Discos and RRCs have a lot of glass. We've all seen hack tint jobs driving around. I think its worth it to have it professionally done.

I tint all my trucks with 30% ceramic, primarily for reduction in heat gain. (4 land cruisers 2 land rovers, 3 sport wagons, 2 sedans) Over the past 20 years, generally it runs between 400 and 500 bux on a SUV. in 2012 my RRC was $525 because many windows and skylight. I'm in eastern Mass.

How do you like the ceramic tint? How much of a reduction in temp would you say you average?

I have some type of 3M on my DD, it may be ceramic, I believe it is a 30% reduction. I got mine mainly for heat reduction and it ma an incredible difference. There are many levels of tint, my wife has an Outback , I had the fronts done to match the rear, primarily for aesthetics. I went with a cheaper tint because its theoretically illegal in the event I have to remove it. the difference between the higher end 3M tint on my DD and the cheaper 3m product on Subaru in terms of heat reduction is impressive. The 3m job on my Mazda hatchback was about $500. Moving forward I will never ever own another daily driven car without tint, global warming is real.

the classic looks good. i just had my audio system installed and we had a couple of +100 degree days recently. actually 115 to be exact and the inside of the truck was hotter than a mfer. i think i will upgrade to a form of ceramic film
