Lots of problems solved in the last two weeks - and some commentary
- Will Tillery provided an excellent transmission at an excellent price, it went in without too much difficulty. It shifts much better than the old one did to begin with, so it's a bit of an upgrade. The flex plate was in about 10 pieces, one of which had beaten the oil pump in the transmission to death, hence the massive loss of fluid in the old one.
- I took the opportunity to replace the entire exhaust system as mine leaked and had some previous-installed-flap on it and a chrome "burn your leg" tailpipe. Note that the Atlantic British center and rear parts don't fit very well and hit the frame when installed, so some heating and bending is forthcoming. It does, however, all seal up now and sounds great.
- A number of other minor pieces were fixed while "in there" and it all really made a difference.
