I live in Hyde Park New York. I am interested in the Wurtsburo trails as to whether they are private or public. I have been dying to find a place to go off road since there is nothing around here. Wurtsburo is probably less than an hour away. |

Warren, the Wurtsboro area is closed. I went up there a month ago and new "No Trespassing" signs were just put up. It looks like some folks have been going up there and ripping up the trail and the locals complained. There used to be a trail called Beacon close to you but that also is closed. Unfortunately, there aren't many trails in our area and that's why we go to events like Roverfest, MAR, etc...
Most NY/NJ/CT trails aren't posted on the internet because of fear that the greenies will show up and try to close the trail. You are probably better off joining a club like West CT and do some trail runs with them. I personally don't like clubs and would prefer to wheel with people I like and know.
Hyde Park...I usually pass by when I go up to Rhinebeck...nice area..

Warren, I apologize for these clowns....myself included. Check the West Ct Club website: http://www.landroverclub.com/ They may have some events that are not listed and you might be able to go without being a mmember? Other than that, Paragon near Hazleton Pa is going to be your best bet. |

I believe that everything in New York has been slapped with a no tresspassing sign. Anyway I'm sure that I will find something. I have a 95 Disco - Safari Gard bumper with a warn 9000lb winch and a ome md lift on 31in BFG Radial Mud terrains. Thanks for the info no clubs I will chack them out |

Warren --me and my cousin are planning a trip for this weekend i beleive the weekend of the 29th we are waiting to hear from people they said they would let us know if they were interested in going after christmas ill try and keep it posted but if you can email me it would be easier macktuff@aol.com and anybody else that would like to take a trip. Its going to be a bunch of NY long island guys. Ill let you guys know thanks. |
