Where would you go that's not too extreeeeeeemmmmeee, and might have some good sights to see? thank ya much pwc |

Truckhaven, Good gawd, I am unhealthily (is that a word, LOL?) addicted to that place. hmmm, yeah, and I was going to add that if you get out to Truckhaven, you might try Anza Borrego (i.e. "The Pumpkin Patch", etc. -> for the sights, lots of interesting stuff -> history and changing foliage, with some trails that aren't boring). ... Then I scrolled up and reread you said a one year old. Ho nailed it, Truckhaven. Kim Oh darn it, now you've got me thinkin' (can you smell the burnt rubber?) One year old ... (mama Kim wants you to stick to washes )Geez, there are beautiful hills all around the Indio area and beyond ... |

Ok, is Truckhaven more of a general local name for the place, or is it an actual location? I'm thinking it's the former, because I drove down there and had lots of fun, but never saw any exact mention of it. I did see the Ocitillo Off-Road area and played there a bit, then drove through some of Anza-Borrego and out to Font's Point. Had a good time all in all and liked what a stock Jeep GC could do. pwc PS Does it look like this? If so, that's where we were. HUH????? We can only have pictures 480x240 now? That's a damn goofy size.

Hey Peter. I wish I'd known you were down here and had the time to come out with you! Would have been fun. I was at Truckhaven for the CORVA Poker Run thingy a few weeks ago and it conquered my truck. I need to go out there again soon! I love going out to Anza Borrego desert. And the good news is with the rain, this time of year you can see some really beautiful flowers. Plus, for those of use who live down here, going to the desert after a rain is a rare experience! |

My plans were a bit tentative at first plus I wasn't sure what I was going to do day to day with a 1 year ild along. We went to Joshua Tree NP today and, even though it's STILL raining, it was pretty neat. I ended up taking the long Geology Trail the way through that....uuhhh....canyon (don't have my notes handy). real pretty country when no one is around. Of course, they left evidence. (see sticker on bottom left).
