Hi,

I own a '99D1 stock. Got it 5 months ago and wondering if there were any trails in the Raleigh vicinity. I do know about the upcoming Uwharrie in Nov '03. Since I've never been off-roading before would like to try something locally before I make the big trip. Any pointers/leads would be really appreciated

Hey Praveen,

There isn't much in Raleigh that I know about.

There are some trails in Durham, and probably the Rover Club house guys would be good to hit up for the 411.

I'll be down at Uwharrie, Sat the 8th of Nov, if you want to meet up.

BTW,I'm stock too - probably the same setup as you - 99 DI. Been off-roading a bunch of times with no problems. Just don't go by yourself and use common sense.

Later, Kris.

Hey Kristopher,

Thanks for the info. I'd definitely like to join you at Uwharrie, unfortunately won't be able to make it. Need to be with my wife elsewhere on Saturday. I'd be game for sunday 11/09/03. But if it's not possible, no sweat we can meet the next time you're going wheeling. Drop me a line at (praveenk22@yahoo.com) and I'll join you.

Regards, Praveen

There are a couple of us down in Fayetteville that like to go out as much as possible. Let me know when you guys head out. I already have plans this weekend. For info try the guys at the Rover Club House in Durham. There is a great trial not 10 miles from the shop. mlafrenz@nc.rr.com

Praveen with all of the urban sprall there is not alot of places to go compared to maybe 5 to 10 years ago. I used to wheel around the the northern part of Johnston Co toward Knightdale, Wendell but they have all been turned into sub-divisions

Kris,

I might could make it to Uwharrie this Sunday...why don't we all plan on meeting at the Outpost by 10am? Also, there's going to be a group of us heading up there Dec. 13 for the last open weekend.

Steve,

Is the Outpost that large gas station/general store on Hwy 109?

We (my brother Jeremy, John F. and his girl Ashley) are all camping that Saturday night. We'll probably wheel well into the night before finding a spot to camp for that night. For this reason, I can not gaurantee that we'll be at the Outpost by 10am.

So if we're not there, just hit the trails because thats most likely where we're already at. I'm in a stock, Woodcote Grn Disco with a Washington State license mounted on the front.

We keep our FRS radios on Ch. 2 - you can hopefully get in touch with us that way.

Sound good? See you out there.

Btw, nice picture in your profile. Thats crazy dude.
