Did Stone Camp today with my neighbor. We went in from the Skidmore Lake side up to meadow Knob. On past meadow knob we ran into a 1988 Dodge minivan aboned on the trail. It wasn't burned out but the back seat had been removed and it was pretty beat up.
The amazing thing is that it made it as far as it did! I'm thinking about selling the rover and picking up one of those.
If anyone is taking the trail in the next few days don't be too suprized by what you find.
My neighbor is a Rockingham Co. deputy and we did have cell phone service up there. The vehicle didn't come back stolen which may mean the owner hasn't missed it yet.
From what he was saying the park service will probably take care of it now unless it is reported stolen.

I bet it came in from the Flag Pole side...

Too bad a Dodge van does not have any usable parts on it.

I'm sure it did. It wouldn't have made it that far the other way.
I did 2nd mountain again today also. It was much wetter then yesterday. The spring peepers were out in force. Every puddle was full of them.

Trails not too bad. I've taken my Disco stock on it. I now have bigger tires and a 3" lift so have no problems at all.
Let me know if you want to make a run sometime.

If you plan to run out there in the next few weeks, please post or email. I've got to free up the CDL on the Disco and change power steering hoses (again). But I want to try those new tyres and lift.
If all else fails, I've got a lifted FL too- but we don't talk about that here. :-)

I could possibly go on Sunday. Is anyone else interested?
I keep forgetting to ask my neighbor if the park service picked up the van yet.

>>Steve, where did you get your snorkle?<<

Spain. RocaSilva.com I heard a rumour that he doesn't make them anymore, not sure though. More $ than a Mantec or ARB but way nicer and NO wind noise.
I can't go Sunday- there's an R/C plane auction... it's my other addiction.

I might be interested in a weekend trip sometime. I'm @ Virginia Tech but I wouldn't mind driving a little while for some good trails. If you guys want to get something together, let me know and I'll schedule a few days off work.

Stock 98 D1, only "upgrade" is Kumha ATs

Sounds as if we need to put together a "spring ride"
I've got new shocks, p/s hoses etc in the mail- so as soon as the ol D1 is back on the road I'll organize something. Any heathens want to run the Saturday before Easter?
