New to the site, Are there any clubs or roverers in KY or SW VA! I have a place in mind and would like to get something together, mabe meet some people with similar interests in the area! Hensleys settlement in Cumberland Gap National Park (which borders TN, KY and VA), has a back way up to it. The trail is five miles up to the settlement. My 96 disco is stock and I only ran into problems with clearance 3x, but Was able to manuever (slowly and carefully) around these areas safely. I am very new to off road driving but this trail is pretty rough with some good inclines and some light rock crawling! Only takes about an hr or two to get up to the settlement but once you get up you wont want to leave. Hensleys settlement is like a smaller version of Cades Cove in the Great Smokey Mountains. It was settled in the 1800's And is still maintained by the ntl. park service. Anyway there is pleanty to see and makes for a good day or overnight trip. There are also some other short side trips in the area!! Anyone interested?? |
