I am going to be in the Herkimer area Friday after noon and will be in Syracuse(actual Cazanovia)Friday night and part of Saturday for business and visiting old college buddies. Does any one know of some trails I could check out while in that area? I am travleing back to Plattsbugh on Saturday so anything on the way back would be good to know also. I have a stock 96 disco. |

I"m at college in Hamilton, about 20 mins from Cazanovia. I could tell you about one trail 5 mins from hamilton, it's short and really muddy. Other than that i could point you in the right directions of where some trails are, but i'm still in the process of exploring and searching for them. There are a few areas where there is a lot of state land with ski trails and ATV trails but i havn't had the chance yet to find any good ones. I'm sure there are some there, you could find them if u drive through there long enough. It's all dirt/ logging roads through the woods with trails coming off of that. Let me know i'll give u directions |

Stephan Thanks for the info. Directions would be great. I know the area somewhat, I plan on getting on Rt 20 to Cazanovia once I am done with my business. Is the trail on private property or public land? I don't want to cause any problem with the locals. There are a bunch of loggin roads in the west canada lake region of the adirondaks. I plan on checking those out on the way home. Thanks Brad |
