I know that his occurs this weekend, the same time as SAE in Georgia. As I will not be able participate in the event in GA, I will be going to Uwharrie. If you are free, it would be nice to visit with everyone.

Details can be found at http://www.theoldnorthstate.org/adventure/advstart.html Click on the workday link in November.

Safe Rovering,

Dan

Hello Volunteers!

This is the last Work Weekend of the year and the last one that I
will be heading up. Mark Hall bad_bowtie_@msn.com will be taking
over the duty of coordinating the Work Weekends. I know he will
work had for our cause.

This will give me more time with my family (A#1) and more time
enjoying the sport that I have worked so hard for. This will also free
up some time for me to do some Backhoe work, which is badly
needed.

We will be continuing our fencing on the Dickey Bell Trail. I hope
for a large turn out so we can complete this project this weekend.
We have approx. 600 ft. of fencing to install.

As normal, free camping is available at site "C" of the Group Camp.
We meet each morning at 9:00am at the Uwharrie Hunt Camp.

Lets make the last Work Weekend of the year a big success and
come out and support your sport.

I want to thank all the had working volunteers that have helped us
over the years. We have come a long way together since Greg Glatz
and I officially opened our first trail--Gold Mine-- back in 1991.

Thank You

Scott Fields
Associate Director of Conservation and Land Management-
Uwharrie National Forest
Southern Four Wheel Drive Association

It is good work, and it goes along way toward keeping areas like that open for everyone to use. If you still want to get out to Uwharrie, some of us are heading that way on Dec 13th.

I'm Navy reserves and have my drill weekend on the 13th. But I'd love to come out and meet some of you next year.

We were out at Uwharrie this past weekend and didn't see one single Land Rover of any kind on the trail. It was surprising.

Kristopher:
Felt the same way the weekend before, I was the only rover on the trail work weekend. Didn't mind so much though, got the job nailing orange flashes to trees and light fence repair so I just drove the trails alone, got my work done and enjoyed the day.

Patrick Greene is hosting a ride on Sat. the 29th. Maybe you can make that one?
