www.offroadexperience.com. Entries are now being accepted. Wicks and I are teaming up again in our Defenders, and hereby and forthwith challenge all DWebbers to the greatest Rover contest in North America...

Takers? Questions?

Salut,

Where is the event. How good/ involved is it? I'm In east bay san fran so nevada's not a huge trek. How would an XD with husky winch, safari gard front bumper/skid plate, JEK stage III - adj fox shox, SG multilink, rovertym rock sliders fare? Hope i can convince 'rents to let me skip 3 days of school...

btw, looked at pictures of your 110. you have my dream land rover. I really wanted to take a 109", take a new coil sprung chassis, and a 4.6 v-8 mate it to manual. bring the grill out and paint it gun metal grey. Sorta Lara croft tomb-raiderish... but... thats not gunna happen for my first car. "too unreliable, too difficult to do"-parents. Hope i can see you out there. Are there competitions etc. Team's?

Jack,

If you drill down into the www.offroadexperience.com site you'll find all the info you need. Left menu is Nevada Trophy.

Definitely it's a competition! There'll be over 200 waypoints hidden in 10,000 square miles of badlands. You'll only need to acquire about 40 or 50 of them to win. So good navigation, speed of operation, physical stamina and sheer determination are all required!

See you in April!

PS: Your XD sounds cool!

Can we get a roll call of DiscoWebbers that are planning or thinking about competing in the Nevada Trophy in April?

Please post if you are interested!

Thanks,

Doug Walker

It's entirely your call on the sleep if 36 hour format. Last year all entries returned to the hotel for at least 5 hrs. If we go with two 14 hrs, there will be a mandatory sleep break.

Hope that helps!

All,

Just got a bulletin from www.offroadexperience.com. The NVTR will consist of two 15 hr. days this year -- Friday the 30th of April and Saturday May 1st. So a mandatory sleep break. (Whew.)

Sign up deadline is April 1st -- rapidly approaching! There is a novice event for first timers that is one day only (optional - novice can choose to compete in the full event as well).

Let me know if you have any questions.

Doug
