I am thinking that the first weekend in may would be a good weekend for a trip in the Pine Barrens! I will be withen 2-3 days of a full moon, and those of you remember the trip of the full eclipse, AHHH a full moon and no lights!?!?
What were we thinking? Just a thought, Please chime in if you are game!
Peter.

I'm in as well. How about a day/night trip, and for those who can't stay, we get to a spot with no obstacles to the road so they can leave?

I'm dying to try out my free portable gas grill from BFG on some steaks!

I'm in as well! A day and night trip sounds nice. Are you thinking yurts or just staying up all night?

If there's interest, I can bring hot sausages and grill up some sandwiches and such.

I'm usually good 'till 3am and my preference would be to sleep at that point cuz I have a 2 hour drive home.....But I do have some genuine counterfeit Cuban cofee that will get me home!

So basically, I'm up for camping or going home at 3 am.

I think its a safe bet that there will be interest on hot sausages and such :-)

I am really looking forward to taking the new truck off road and meeting everyone. Let me know what I should bring, both gear wise and food wise. I do not have a CB but I do have an FRS radio.

List of things to concider since it is still a few weeks away,

At least 2 20' or 30' straps, 1 for fr/1 for rear
A couple of shackles
C B most of us run them, It's more fun to hear what is going on, And you can say I'm Stuck!! as we all will
change of clothes, (entire)
As for food goes, we prefer nice tender pork loin roasts, cooked the night before
Burgers, Hot sausages,
donuts,
Just bring whatever you want to add to a list, we all usually bring some food and NONALCHOLIC beverages and we all share, Picnic style!
We will post more later when we come closer to the date, I will be leaving for the trails in 10 min to see what we are up against, Will post some pics later, along with trail report!
Peter.

And its already as deep as anything last year? LOL:-)

I'll be there. But I think we need the usual disclaimer:

DISCLAIMER:

You WILL get flooded out interior. Some minor scratches too, and prepare for stalled engines if you don't have a snorkel and have not waterproofed every electrical connection on the engine / transmission. Even with MTs and a lift and lockers, you WILL get stuck and have to be recovered on this trip, so everyone MUST have front and back recovery points and straps attached BEFORE we hit the wet stuff.

ONLY land rovers. A Cherokee tried to follow us recently (without our knowing or permission) and hydrolocked the engine which then blew up.

Check the pics in the photos section under my, Peter B's, Eugene, Jaime Crusellas names, and look at the comments in the Trails section (under the bbs, just look in the pine barrens threads) to see what people have said and have gone through.

Oh and make SURE you have a working CB, you will probably be required to jump into swamp water and recover others, and we need to coordinate this a fast as possible to limit flooding, so communication is number 1 priority. Bring OLD shoes that you don't mind trashing if you don't have waders.

Bring 1-2 gallons of water per person at minimum. Its possible we will get stuck or broken down and take hours and hours to get going again.

Bring proper recovery straps. NO tow ropes please, we have seen one snap and it wasn't fun.

Make sure you have a proper size spare tire and that is fully inflated and driveable on road.

We will be able to fill up gas at the route 70 circle, and note that if you're coming down from NY the gas is much cheaper down here.

Hope to see lots of smiles and families and kids! Despite the warnings it is usually a wonderful day for all involved:-)

Dean
