Any picks? I though the first Rover prototype (sp?) was built in the 1947.

Art -- would love to see that '23!

That's weird! I have a 1998 Discovery and it's only a 50 Year Anniversary Edition. I got taken.

Knowing those LR dealers I bet I paid for a 75 year Anniversary Edition but only got the 50 Year Anniversary Edition.

Heads are gonna roll!

David, unless your car is Woodcote Green exterior with Bahama Beige seats with Lightstone piping, it isn't a 50th anniversary.
You have an LE. Not an LSE or a 50th anniversary.

Howboucha Alyssa!
Our LE says it's a 50th and has the SVD badge in the doghouse. Is mine a 50th or not?

Oooh, busted!

Next you're going to say I don't have 1923 Series .01 I suppose.

"and if it wasn't for you meddling kids, I would have gotten away with it!"

Well Alyssa I beg to differ with you. The sticker in the rear window says 50th Anniversary special.... So as for the green and tan piped seat theory, guess not...

Thanks

PS your more than welcome to fly to cali, buy it and take it back with you. For you its only $15,995 and I will throw in an extra diaper for you to clean it with...

almost all 98s have a "50th anniversary" sticker, but they are not the special editions. the "50th anniversary edition" was a woodcote LSE just like alyssa said. and its not theroy its fact.

Well damn. Where does this leave me? I have a '98 LSE in Willow Green that says 50'th anniversary. The grille, mirrors, & bumper endcaps are also color matched in Willow Green. Is this not a 50th anniversary?

no curtis, its not. its a 98 lse in willow green, which IMO is a very cool truck, but still not a "50th edition." There were 2 50th edition rovers in 98, the woodcote LSE disco, and the woodcote 4.0 SE. The disco had different wheels and the darker tan seats with lighter piping as oppossed to the lightstone seats with darker piping which im assuming your LSE has. The 4.0 SE came with the same interior setup and the 18" prolines, the first time those wheels were put on a P38. They made very few of each, something like 100-200 if i recall. The reason that all 98s have a "50th anniversary" sticker is because the year 1998 was LRs 50th anniversary.. On the LE and LSE they are just stickers.

Gil: "Have you ever had this appraised? Do you have any idea what it's worth?"

Curtis: "No, I just know Grandpappy paid $250 for it in 1923 and I found it out in the barn and cleaned it up a bit...."

Gil: "Well, given it's condition, and rich history, at auction I would expect this Disco to bring anywhere from seven to twelve thousand dollars."

bliiiing...Willow Green Land Rover Discovery, $7000 - $12,000

Curtis: "Oh my.....my oh my...."

LOL. Well Blue, it looks like I have struck out. Thanks for helping me Gil.

Now I can go back to butchering this pretty truck and feel less guilty. I now know I am not destroying a rare and valuable piece of LR history :-)

Ron: Great minds think alike. Grievance taken into consideration, adamantly calculating estimate of compensatory damage’s. It is WAY too late and I am starting to become delirious!
