If you get a message from this guy with an offer for anything you're selling ,delete it. He's a b*llsh*t artist. He tried to buy some wheels from from somewhere in Scotland. Told me he's sending me $450 (3 rims) + $3000 in shipping cost.

yea, I'm still laughing at that one. now some other joker (john hayward)who is his solicitor(?) is telling he's going to sue for breach for contract and is now offering me an opportunity to settle. I figured everyone would get a kick out of that.

Dude. A couple of clowns from Scottland contacted me as well for something I was selling and for something I wasn't. Must have got me mixed up with someone else. I told them NO right off the bat. That over paying shipping scam is an oldie but a goodie.
LOL

For those of us who live sheltered lives, could you explain the "overpaying shipping scam" and/or the "email me some pics" scam?

Thanks

Hi guys, I will share a very true story of this scam perpetrated on my family last month...I was selling a horse trailer online , and lo and behold, a guy from England e-mails and says he will take it, sight unseen! All he wants me to do is receive his "cashiers check", made out of a U.S. bank in Florida, and endorsed for $4,000.00 over the amount I was asking for my trailer, to cover costs of over-seas shipping, and to repay his U.S. contact for the efforts made in another deal. I said, "SURE!" not believing a check would ever come. Three weeks later, a check fo $8,500.00 arrived, FED-EX!, and it was made to me, and came from a legit bank in Florida. I immediately went to my bank, and put the unsigned check on the counter, and asked, "is this check good?"...YES, she said, just endorse it. I did'nt feel quite right, so I waltzed it over to the managers office, and told her the story. She called the Florida bank, and determined the check was counterfiet. She told me that a number of these had actually been cashed, and the banks were charging the loss to the account holder. I called the F.B.I., and they said they were not able to trace these guys yet...interstate forgery, wire-fraud, bank-fraud, and intimidation. (just a few of the charges that will be levied). I went home, and e-mailed this JERK, and told him where to put his check...we recieved two days of death threats, and numerous phone calls (My # was in the add). My advise...Don't even read them...I was told that these guys are terrorists, wanting to dismantle this country from the infrastructure out. These boys are bad news.
