When I was on my last trek through the sierra nevadas we bought some steaks for the first night, we were going to bbq and everything would be great....lol, no! it turned out that my buddy did not attach the cooler that well, our dry goods must have came off his flatbed miles down the trail, we reached an area to camp, we go to get the food and realize that we have no cooler! I had a very small one with the steaks and some sodas inside my xtra cab, so we get ready and eat anyway. We did not want plain steak so we had to improvise, I scoured my truck and came apon a 4 month old unopened packet of beef flavoring powder from one of those chinese bag noodle lunches(top ramen), we all rejoice. so we end up using our mini gas powered grill and cooking the steaks with the beef flavoring powder on top, man was it goood, so good I still eat steak with that stuff we found a snickers bar to round out dessert. it was funny because we had no plates, forks, paper napkins or anything1 we used pages from my toyota owners guide to hold the steaks in our hands. it all sounds crude, but the memories will last forever! |

Sounds like you had a great time, but what are you going to do if the toyota breaks down? I bet the instructions will be on the pages you used to hold the steaks. LOL |
