Mountain Hardwear Trango 3.1 is my suggestion. 4-season expedition tent and it sleeps three (four if you have to). Check out the specs at www.mountainhardwear.com This is the tent I have, and my only complaint is the weight, which is somewhere close to 11 lbs. But it is a very smartly built and set-up tent, and for lengthy backcountry trips it's my group's unanimous choice. You really wouldn't be disappointed. |

Thanks Adam - added to the list. The only thing it missed was on snowflaps - but Mrs.Mc is a pretty dab hand with the sewing machine so that's no biggy. regards Jeff |

I'd go with the original NF mountain tent. I have it and love it and it's bomber and proven. It's billed as a 2 person but would easily sleep 3. It's so overbuilt as a summit tent that I sometimes feel silly using it for mundane camping but I have a light bivy for backpacking so I wanted whatever tent I got to be serious shelter. |

if you want a serious bomber tent (a bit heavier than most do to the guality of materials...) that has a great design can hold a lot of snow weight get a moss!!!!! if you are carrying it in your car get a moss little dipper....these tents are specialized and most people have never even heard of them...moss is now owned by msr but they still retain the original high quality standards.. i have been mountaineering now for over ten years and i worked in the outdoor industry off and on for quite some time, used to be sponsored by the face (north face=OVERPRICED CRAP) and i can easily say that for a double walled tent moss have the best tents i have ever used...i used to be sold on others but the first time i ever checked out a moss it was love at first site...check em out and if you know anything about tent design and functionality then you will not be disapointed by the way alll of ther tents are designed with an amazing amount of space all around |
