I'm going to try and figure out some way to mount that thing in one of the rear cargo bins. Looks like that would be a great thing to have on a hot day..

Sams club has a bigger cheap freezer for about $60. However, I bought one of those six pack pieces of shit. Total waste of money. ($30 from sportsmansguide.com).

I don't think this would do much for offroading, but for family style relaxed use on the pavement this will probably do the trick.

I am going to buy one one the "30 day trial plan". I'll let you know if it is crap or not.

I had one of those on my boat about 8 years ago. It didn't make things cold enough. Perhaps they are made better but it looks the very same.

I was considering one also, but it only cools to 40F? That's not cold enough for me.

I'm saving (and saving, and saving) for an Engel.

Most of those things will only cool to like 30 degrees below ambient..

40F is fine for me. Not looking to freeze anything, but mainly keep the baby bottles from spoiling and keep a weekends worth of food cool.

I wouldn't do it via mail order, but since sams is 10 minutes from the house, I'll give it a go.

Hey Tom, that link didn't work for me, I have a Sams club right across the street from me here. Was it the Igloo cooler/heater that you were talking about? Let me know if that thing is worth a damn.. Those at EE look great but I don't really have a need for holding that much foodstuffs in the back of the car. I'd be way too tempted to fill it with Heine... 6 should be plenty for the trip home:)

If he was on the block, I'd be over there.

Kyle, run to the end of the driveway and ship me that sucker. Or, ship me your Engel and buy another one at cost from EE and send it my way. Tack 5 bucks on the price and sell to me. You will have earned a delicous happy meal.

How much battery do those puppies drain if your trucks turned off? Like say 2 days or so. Are they battery killers?

Eric , mine was in the truck for a month or so running non stop. I never had any issues...They work well enough so taht they cycle and that keeps the battery alive.
