Two things: Anyone mounted or used a tarp off the side of a Disco adventure rack? How did you support the other ends? Also, Looking for a full standup tent, that could shield from rain and bugs, but have enough room to work on mountain bikes and sleep in. Anyone recommend the CHEAPEST alternative? Thanks. |

Cheapest is the 6'x8' tarp that I have. I support the other end with two tent poles and 4 guy ropes. This one is very compact but not cheap, if you have USD is will be reasonable as it it made in Canada. http://www.shadyboy.com/vans/ TrevorH |

Dave, My wife and I just purchased a tent from Target. Yes, Target. It weighs in at about 17 lbs. and is Target's Greatland brand. The tent sets up in less than 10 minutes and can sleep 8. The center height is 6'6", which is more than enough to work on your bikes comfortably. Take a look at Target's website and check it out. It is the three room version. FYI, we used it up in the Nevada desert and it withstood 35 MPH winds with very little swaying. BOL, Chris |

Thanks Chris. Funny you mention Target. One just opened up down the street. I was looking at their website and saw the very same tent, so I was going to check it out this weekend. |

Dave, Ditto the Target sugestion. If you want big and cheap, check out their 4-room Eddie Bauer model @ $229. http://www.target.com We use the older 3 room model, which can house and feed a family of 4 on a rainy day without having to stow away the bedding. However, in high winds, we did need to add extra staked guy-lines to the middle sections of the center poles (no big deal, attach them with prussik knots). REI sells a similar tent called the Wenzel Brazos 4 for only $149 on sale. Also, the Eureka "Outside Inn" at $249 might work better as a tent/bike shop. Check these out at: http://www.rei.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/CategoryDisplay?cgmenbr=8000&cgrfnbr=4500538&seq=1&sort=1 If you want big and fancy, you can't beat the North Face "2 Meter Dome", but you could also buy a lot of other stuff for the $5000 price http://www.geocities.com/Yosemite/Trails/5416/2meter.htm Good luck |

Recently bought an 8-10 man tent from Sears. So far it has held up really well and has so much room that it fits 4 cots and all the gear we could carry. Recently fit two cots, a queen sized air bed and a single sleeping bag. Three room and was on sale from $200 to $129 + a $13 rebate. Entire roof is screen when rainfly isn't attached. Planning on doing like Pouch with the side canopy- he rolled up 8 feet of canvas around a rod and simply pulls it out and inserts two legs with 4 guy ropes. I may try to work a way to attach the poles to the rims though in case ground is uneven or rocky. |

Jerry, With some creativity I am sure the Hannibal awning can be fitted to other roofracks. It is indeed a very neat and simple awning that provides ample shade. Kinnie www.yenzatours.com |
